June 30 – July 4, 2023 in Indianapolis
Childcare Information for General Synod 34.
Childcare and Children’s Programming is provided for Plenary sessions, Committee meetings and Workshops in the Indiana Convention Center. Infants 6 months up to 6 years old will have their own room, and a Children’s Program is run for children ages 6 through 12 years old. Space is also provided for nursing mothers in the childcare room.
We need to provide adequate adult to child ratios for each session as well as materials. (No less than 1 adult for every 4 children under age four; 1 adult for every 7 children aged 4 years and older).
There is a fee of $10 per session (morning, afternoon, evening) for all children, and it needs to be paid upon submission of this registration form. Note that children age 6 to 12 require additional registration for the General Synod; see this Pricing – United Church of Christ General Synod 34 for details.
We will provide some snacks. Parents or guardians need to pick up children prior to meals. No meals are provided.
All childcare and children’s program staff and volunteers have been screened in compliance with the IKC and UCC guidelines. Background checks have been done on all adult personnel attending to and working with children. Safe Church Covenants and Abuse Prevention Policies are in effect. The Abuse Prevention Policy can be found at https://ikcucc.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2023/05/GS-2023-Child-Protection-Policy-and-Procedures-Final-4.3.2023.pdf
Rooms will be open 30 minutes prior to scheduled sessions and close 30 minutes after. Parents or guardians are expected to bring and pick up their children within these times. A sign in and sign out sheet will be required. Children will only be released to the person who brought the child. Each adult will be required to show photo ID.
To register your child, please complete the registration forms available at the IKC website: https://ikcucc.org/general-synod-2023/
